There are a ton of fun holiday DIY projects on Pinterest. I ran across a fun wreath DIY that someone had made out wrapping paper and decided that I would try it myself.
I could not find a wreath at my local Michaels, so instead bought a circle and cut out a hole in the middle. This worked pretty well, but if I was going to do again I would for sure look for the wreath. I did not love how the hole was not perfect.
After I had the wreath cut out, I started cutting wrapping paper into strips about 2 inches wide by 8 inches long.
Once I had what seemed like a million strips cut. I started rolling them up into tubes and taping the tubes. The one tip on Pinterest was to use heavy, expensive paper. I of course, used cheap and inexpensive paper. If its a DIY you want it to be cost efficient right?? So….I found that because my paper was pretty flimsy, if I used a marker and rolled the paper around the marker it was much easier to roll and tape.
Here are a bunch of tubes…ready to be glued on.
Once I had all of these tubes done….I glued two rows of them around the wreath and tied it up with ribbon. I think it turned out OK….not sure if I would do again, but for this year…our paper wreath will be staying.
I hope that you and your family have had a wonderful time getting ready for the holidays……
Be well, Megan
